What Is CBD Oil and How Does It Work
The cannabis plant contains a variety of compounds known as cannabinoids. Among these cannabinoids is cannabidiol, or CBD. Cannabinoids are chemical messengers that activate a class of cell membrane receptors located throughout the body. These body receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system, which is involved in a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, sleep, mood and memory. Cannabinoids are either naturally produced by the body or outside the body i.e. (CBD). The cannabinoids found in marijuana and hemp, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD, which, when consumed sublingually (under the tongue) or transdermally also interact with cannabinoid receptors in the body and can generate similar physical and psychological effects.
When you ingest CBD Oil sublingually, or transdermal, it metabolizes and attaches to ECS receptors known as CB1 (cannabinoid type 1) and CB2 (cannabinoid type 2). CB1 receptors are primarily found in your brain and central nervous system. CB2 receptors are more commonly found in peripheral organs, especially cells associated with the immune system.
Under the tongue, there is a vein called the sublingual gland. When a substance is administered to the sublingual gland, it gets absorbed directly into the bloodstream. Because sublingual consumption is more direct, it impacts the body quicker than oral consumption and maintains higher availability, only being degraded from enzymes in the mouths saliva as opposed the digestive system. Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) enhances the delivery and absorption into the blood stream of our CBD.
CBD oil is rich in vitamins A, C and E, which blocks free radicals, stimulates collagen production, firms the tissue and reduces the signs of aging.
On top of the benefits of CBD on aging skin, it can also benefit breakout-prone complexions. “Because acne is an inflammatory condition related to overworked sebaceous-gland production, promising new research states that CBD can help reduce the production of sebum, which means CBD could become a future treatment for acne, particularly acne vulgaris, the most common form of acne associated with overproduction of sebum.
CBD used sublingually and transdermal may also help other inflammatory-related conditions such as skin allergies, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.
Applying CBD topically is very effective for targeting specific areas of the body like muscle aches and pains. The wrist, groin and bottom of the feet are areas of the body that are the most effective for transdermal absorption. You can infuse your favorite Keyano massage oil, cream or lotion with our CBD concentrate for full body application.
Due to biochemical individuality the appropriate dosage for each person will be different. We all have different body chemistry, and this will affect how our body reacts to CBD.
You may want to start with recommended serving size and monitor your body’s reactions until you find the perfect dosage that works for your situation. When you’re placing the drops under your tongue, you generally need to hold them for roughly 60-90 seconds to allow for full absorption.
